After 3-hour questioning, Rahul Gandhi leaves ED office

According to an official, three senior officers of the financial probe agency questioned the former Congress president. "The team consisted of two Assistant Directors and one Deputy Director," said the official.Earlier, Gandhi reached the ED office located at Paryavaran Bhavan on APJ Abdul Kalam Road amid heavy police deployment that was put in place to restrain party workers from carrying out a rally from Congress HQ to the ED office.

There was heavy police deployment in and around the ED office located at Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Road. As he left the party headquarters at 24 Akbar Road, several Congress workers accompanied him. The police however, did not allow them to move further and only Rahul Gandhi was permitted.
Congress protests outside ED office

The people were stopped at least 1 Km before the ED office with the Delhi Police placing a barricade there. The Congress workers sat just before the barricade and raised slogans in favour of their leader and against the present dispensation at the Centre. "I will say only one thing - Satyamev Jayate (Truth alone triumphs)," Senior Congress leader Harish Rawat, who was present there, said.
Congress's proposed march to ED office can't be permitted: Delhi Police

"Keeping in view the present communal situation in Delhi and heavy law and order/ VVIP movements in the jurisdiction of New Delhi district, the said rally could not be permitted in the jurisdiction of New Delhi district," Deputy Commissioner of Police Amrutha Guguloth said in a letter to the All India Congress Committee (AICC). It also said that the police got the information about the rally through various sources -- that the Congress is planning to organise a rally from the AICC headquarters to the ED office, Paryawaran Bhawan, here.

BJP wins all 26 seats in Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council

According to the State Election Commission, the BJP candidates won all the 26 seats while the Congress was a runner-up in a majority of the seats. The BJP, which contested all 26 seats secured 2,25,999 votes while the Congress, which fielded 24 seats, managed 60,760 votes and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which contested 10 seats, bagged 15,513 votes. Altogether 154 candidates contested the polls, which saw a turnout of 77.96 per cent of the 7,03,298 voters and saw some stray incidents of violence.
Prophet remarks row: Prohibitory orders imposed in 3 Assam districts

Officials of the district administrations said that the prohibitory orders have been promulgated in view of the emerging situation on the law and order front after the controversial statement and protests have been seen in many places of the country as reported in various media. The DMs' orders said that no procession, rally, dharna (demonstration), distribution of leaflets, banners and posters attracting breach of public peace and tranquility will be allowed in these three districts.

On Friday, protests were witnessed in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Ranchi, Ahmedabad, Navi Mumbai, Ludhiana, Hyderabad and Jammu & Kashmir with the agitators demanding action and arrest of the suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma and her former party colleague Naveen Kumar Jindal. The BJP has suspended Sharma and expelled Jindal from the party. Cricketer-turned-politician, Gambhir said that nobody has supported the statements made by Sharma.
Gehlot, Baghel to march with Rahul Gandhi to ED office

Before leaving for the national capital, Baghel said: "All of us from the AICC will go with Rahul Gandhi... the government is misusing the ED, the CBI, and the IT Department." The Congress has called a show of strength on Monday and Delhi Congress has asked its workers to reach the party head office to protest against the ED. The party MPs will also accompany former party president Gandhi to the ED office.

Following incidents of violence in Prayagraj, Hathras, Firozabad etc after Friday prayers in Uttar Pradesh and the subsequent police crackdown, RLD chief Jayant Choudhary on Sunday attacked the state government over the issue. Jayant Choudhary said, "The use of bulldozer is not the enforcement of the rule of law. Rather it has become a symbol of state sponsored hooliganism!"
