Describing past events, Owaisi said, "Mahatma Gandhi had said 'My conscience doesn't accept this' and he tore it up." Comparing with what Gandhi did, he asserted, "Like Gandhi, I am also tearing up this law. This is unconstitutional. The BJP wants to make this country develop divisiveness on the pretext of temples and mosques. I condemn this and I request you to accept the 10 amendments."

Complaining against the Bill even more, Owaisi declared that it would curtail the rights of Muslims, reiterating his strong opposition to its clauses.
