The 17 km bypass under construction in Muzaffarpur is set to hugely enhance connectivity for people traveling from Patna to Uttar Pradesh via Gopalganj, and extend to Darbhanga, Madhubani, Araria, and Purnea, right up to Kishanganj district in the Seemanchal region.

The bypass will also provide a smoother linkage to Sonvarsha in the Sitamarhi district. Besides, NH 527 C, the road which connects Majhauli to Nepal, shall link more smoothly to facilitate easier travel of vehicles coming to Patna.

This bypass falls under the Hajipur-Muzaffarpur four-lane national highway 77, and the cost of the project is Rs 180 crore.

This decision for the construction of the bypass was taken way back in the year 2010, after which the land acquisition started in the year 2012. The project underwent several delays, and only with the interference of Patna High Court, the construction work gained speed in the year 2019.

This would make easy the traveling routes to Nepal and Uttar Pradesh from Patna.

The work on the bypass project is likely to be completed this year. His visit is aimed at further speeding up the construction work so that the project gets completed in the current year itself.
