Nitish Kumar responsible if Waqf Amendment Bill is passed, Says Prashant Kishor

Commenting on behalf of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board's (AIMPLB) objections to the amendment proposals, Kishor, in Patna, declared himself in support.

Jan Suraaj chief Prashant Kishor maintained on Wednesday that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar must be made directly responsible if the Waqf Amendment Bill is enacted through Parliament.

"I have supported AIMPLB's protest against the Waqf Bill. The bill has been proposed several times in Parliament, which has caused turbulence among the Muslim community. If it is passed, Nitish Kumar will be held accountable," Kishor said.

Directing his criticism at the BJP, Kishor claimed that only a political system based on Gandhian ideology could meaningfully challenge the ideological orientation of the ruling party.

"Jan Suraaj is not going into elections in Bihar to take power. It is a movement for restoring the Congress-led governance system inspired by the vision of Mahatma Gandhi prior to independence," he further added.

Referring to the increasing traction of Jan Suraaj, Kishor asserted that the movement is gaining momentum, and more and more people are joining the movement daily, motivated by its vision of a better Bihar.

In a fresh entry, erstwhile IPS official Muhammad Abdullah and social activist Amjad Hasan made Jan Suraaj their choice on Wednesday.

"Reality has an internal fortitude. In spite of efforts to belie it, nothing happens to it. With time, the folks of Bihar would realize which party and what brand of governance will do good to their children in the future," said Kishor.
