In a strategic move, the party has opted for fresh faces in constituencies like Sitamarhi and Siwan, where sitting MPs have been replaced. Devesh Chandra Thakur, the legislative council chairman, steps in as the JD(U) candidate for Sitamarhi, while in Siwan, the ticket goes to Vijay Laxmi Kushwaha, who swiftly joined the party along with her husband Ramesh Singh Kushwaha, formerly the state president of Rashtriya Lok Morcha, an NDA affiliate.

Another notable addition to the JD(U)'s roster is Lovely Anand, who defected from the RJD earlier this month. She secures the party's nomination to contest from Sheohar, marking a significant shift in the political landscape of the region.
