Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over the BJP's Central Election Committee (CEC) to finalize the initial list of candidates for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The meeting commenced at 10:45 p.m. on Thursday and concluded at 3:15 a.m. on Friday. Led by party National President J.P. Nadda, the gathering saw the participation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah, along with other prominent members including B.L. Santhosh and Bhupender Yadav.
The meeting also witnessed the presence of various Union Ministers, Chief Ministers from BJP-ruled states, and key party leaders. Additionally, Deputy Chief Ministers of BJP-governed states, state party in-charges, and leaders from the State Core Committees dedicated to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections were in attendance.
Earlier in the day, a significant meeting was held at the official residence of Prime Minister Modi, attended by Amit Shah and J.P. Nadda.
As the Lok Sabha elections draw near, the BJP's CEC convened to deliberate and finalize candidates for over 150 parliamentary constituencies across several states and union territories. The party is anticipated to release its initial list of candidates on Friday.
Prime Minister Modi has set ambitious goals for the NDA-led BJP alliance, aiming to secure over 400 seats in the upcoming elections. Emphasizing the importance of public support, he has urged citizens to help the BJP secure more than 370 seats.
Furthermore, in line with his vision of building a developed India by 2047, Prime Minister Modi aims to promote young talent within the BJP to propel the party forward.
