Following the Supreme Court's directive to the Ajit Pawar-led NCP regarding the allocation of the 'clock' symbol, the party has swiftly moved to comply with the court's instructions to prevent any potential legal disputes.
Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Ajit Pawar, along with the state unit chief Sunil Tatkare, convened a meeting on Thursday to ensure strict adherence to the apex court's guidelines. They instructed party workers at all levels, including district units, to prominently display larger disclaimers in all advertisements, templates, pamphlets, and banners featuring the 'clock' symbol. This measure aims to avoid any accusations of contempt of court.
The Supreme Court had mandated that every NCP advertisement must clearly state that the party's use of the symbol is subject to the court's final decision on the matter.
A senior official within the NCP emphasized, "The party is committed to ensuring that comprehensive disclaimers are visibly displayed on all advertisements and campaign materials. Both city and district units have been instructed to strictly adhere to the Supreme Court's directives. Additionally, they have been advised against featuring Sharad Pawar's photographs in advertisements and banners."
