These delegations, consisting of members of parliament from various parties, former legislators, and veteran diplomats, had gone abroad on international assignments to showcase India's unflinching commitment to peace and its unbending opposition to terrorism.

In an X social media post, the Prime Minister thanked them for their efforts and said, "Met members of the different delegations who represented India in other countries and described India's commitment to peace and the necessity of eliminating the scourge of terrorism. We are all proud of the way they projected India's voice."

The meeting was intended to underscore India's proactive foreign policy approach and its growing role in defining international narratives on counterterrorism. The delegations, fresh from tours of 33 nations, had met with global lawmakers, policymakers, and institutions to convey India's security issues and underscore the ongoing support by Pakistan for extremist forces.

Their diplomatic effort came on the heels of Operation Sindoor—India's targeted military action against the April 22 terror strike in Pahalgam—focusing on terror installations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Leaders who were delegated from various senior figures like BJP's Ravi Shankar Prasad and Baijayant Panda, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, JD(U)'s Sanjay Jha, Shiv Sena's Shrikant Shinde, DMK's Kanimozhi, and Supriya Sule of the NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) were at the forefront. They took a central role in presenting India's voice on global platforms with emphasis on the requirement for global collaboration in the fight against terrorism.

The government's objective was to project a collective national image, above the politics of parties. Opposition voices such as AIMIM's Asaduddin Owaisi united with the leadership of the ruling coalition, projecting India's unified stance on the international stage.

Representatives shared the experiences they had gathered from overseas during the engagement with PM Modi, providing insight into how India's diplomatic claims had been received. Their feedback indicated increasing international recognition of India's concerns over cross-border terrorism.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar had already met with the delegations, praising them for presenting India's stance clearly and effectively engaging with others to enhance India's voice in the international community to combat terrorism.
