In the wake of the ensuing controversy, Shrinate promptly deleted the contentious comments from all her social media handles, asserting that they were not authored by her but by an unauthorized individual with access to her accounts.

According to officials, BJP leader Bansuri Swaraj lodged a complaint with the LG urging an inquiry and the filing of an FIR against Shrinate for allegedly "outraging the modesty of a woman".
