Kangana Ranaut: Cong has always been an appalling party for me

The Bollywood actor, nominated by the BJP to contest the Mandi constituency in Himachal Pradesh for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, expressed her disdain for the Congress, labeling it as "utterly repugnant" to her.

Describing herself as possessing a “glorious right-wing personality”,  Kangana Ranaut took aim at the Congress party, alleging its support for nepotism while singling out Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi for criticism.

Ranaut, known for her vocal stance against nepotism in the film industry, highlighted her ongoing battle against the same issue within the political realm. She denounced the party's culture of favoritism, groupism, and dynastic politics, citing her own experiences as fuel for her opposition.

Referring to the Gandhi siblings, Ranaut characterized them as "nepo kids" with behaviors seemingly alien to her, as if they were "from another planet."

“They are weird as if they have landed from Mars,” she added.

Emphasizing her allegiance to the BJP, Ranaut declared her unwavering support for the party's principles, asserting that her beliefs naturally align with a nationalist government. She proclaimed herself as possessing a proud right-wing identity, echoing sentiments often associated with the BJP.

Following her nomination by the BJP, Ranaut faced derogatory comments from Congress leaders Supriya Shrinate and H S Ahir on social media platforms. While Shrinate claimed her accounts were accessed by others who made inappropriate posts, Ranaut criticized the remarks, stating they regressed the cause of women's empowerment.

Ranaut also defended the honor of her constituency, Mandi, in Himachal Pradesh, rebuking Shrinate for comparing it to a mere market. She clarified Mandi's significance, rooted in its cultural and spiritual heritage, and expressed disappointment at the derogatory portrayal.

Responding to questions about her political debut, Ranaut admitted to feeling apprehensive about the transition, acknowledging the significant lifestyle change and the pressure associated with her new role. She expressed a desire to actively engage with real-world issues, moving beyond the confines of the entertainment industry.
