Previously, the ED had taken action against Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh and former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and AAP leader Manish Sisodia concerning this case. Sisodia was apprehended by the CBI on February 27 and subsequently by the ED on March 9. Singh faced arrest by the ED on October 4 following searches conducted at his residence.

In response to these developments, the AAP has initiated a 'main bhi Kejriwal' signature campaign in the national capital. This campaign seeks public opinion on whether Kejriwal should continue governing in the event of his potential arrest by the ED. Launched on December 1, the signature campaign is set to conclude on December 20.
