Lalu defamed Bihar in India & abroad with fodder scam, says Amit Shah

Addressing a Cooperative Department function organized at Bapu Sabhagar in Patna, Shah asked, "What did Lalu Prasad do for the poor?"

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday launched a blistering attack on RJD president Lalu Prasad, accusing him of discrediting Bihar's name both within the country and outside by indulging in the notorious fodder scam.

Addressing a Cooperative Department function organized at Bapu Sabhagar in Patna, Shah asked, "What did Lalu Prasad do for the poor?"

Stepping up his attack, the Union Minister said, "The regimes of Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi are one with jungle raj, lawlessness, and corruption."

Emphasizing the NDA government's performance, he contrasted it with the state of affairs in Bihar under RJD regime. "40 lakh homes have been built under the PM Awas Yojana and the lives of the people of Bihar have become better. What was Bihar under RJD regime? Extortion, jungle raj, hooliganism, dacoity, kidnappings, and ransom demands were all the rage. The RJD government was beset by scandals," he averred.

Shah also complimented the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as Union Cooperation Minister. "RJD's jungle raj will be a black spot in the history of Bihar," he said, adding that each time RJD ruled, it resulted in the deterioration of the state, whereas the NDA government has pushed its growth.

Drawing a comparison between financial allocations under different governments, he pointed out, "During Lalu Prasad’s tenure as Union Minister in the UPA government, Bihar received ₹2.8 lakh crore from the Centre. However, under PM Modi’s leadership over the past 10 years, the state has received ₹9.23 lakh crore—a significant increase."

Shah also promised a crucial one for the 2025 Bihar Assembly polls, that if the NDA is voted back to power, it will strive to re-open the state's sugar mills.

Confirming the NDA's election strategy, he declared, "The alliance will fight the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections under the leadership of Nitish Kumar."
