The rivalry between Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad, which had been legendary, witnessed a surprising alliance less than two years ago when they joined forces to "defeat the BJP," following Nitish Kumar's departure from the NDA.

When questioned about receiving an invitation to visit Ayodhya for the temple's consecration ceremony on January 22, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Prasad, known for his typically loquacious style, gave a succinct response: "I won't go." Despite his usual chattiness, Prasad chose brevity as he drove past the media contingent, signaling his disinterest in attending the Ayodhya event.
