A video of Karnataka's Housing and Waqf Minister, B.Z. Zameer Ahmad Khan, stating that he would become a suicide bomber for India and enter Pakistan with explosives has gone viral on social media. The provocative statement has received considerable attention on all platforms.
In his previous media encounter, Minister Zameer once again supported India's national identity, stating, "I have said it time and again: We are Indians, we are Hindustanis. We have no relation at all with Pakistan. I say again, we have no connection with Pakistan. I am willing to fight a war if necessary. Even as a minister, if I am deployed on the battlefield, I am willing to go and fight against Pakistan."
He went on to add, "I will go myself to the war zone to battle for India. Let us all do it for our nation. If needed, I will turn into a suicide bomber for India. I am not saying it lightly or due to emotions. If the nation needs it, I will lay down my life as a suicide bomber."
Minister Zameer continued to make a dramatic offer, "Let Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah let me become a suicide bomber. I swear by Allah — I will have explosives tied around my body and I will travel to Pakistan."
The video, capturing his outrageous statement, has gone viral and been appreciated by many sections of the public, although it has also triggered fierce arguments on social media.
Zameer is a close colleague of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and represents the Chamarajpet constituency in Bengaluru. He rose to prominence in Karnataka politics with the support of former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda but had later switched sides from the JD(S) to the Congress party.
Earlier, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah found himself embroiled in controversy after suggesting that war with Pakistan should be avoided. His statement received criticism from various quarters in India and was reportedly highlighted by the Pakistani media. In response to the backlash, CM Siddaramaiah clarified his position, emphasizing that he would not hesitate to support a war against Pakistan if the situation demanded it.
