Jharkhand Governor Meets Senior Government Officials, Assesses Security Arrangements

Director General of Police, Ajay Kumar Singh, informed that extensive security measures have been implemented across the state to ensure law and order, including the deployment of an additional 7,000 policemen.

Jharkhand Governor C P Radhakrishnan held a meeting with senior government officials on Tuesday to assess the security arrangements in light of the unfolding political situation following the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) search at the Delhi residence of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, according to a top official. Radhakrishnan convened Chief Secretary Lalbiaktluanga Khiangte, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Avinash Kumar, and others at the Raj Bhavan in Ranchi.

Director General of Police, Ajay Kumar Singh, informed that extensive security measures have been implemented across the state to ensure law and order, including the deployment of an additional 7,000 policemen. Prohibitory orders have been enforced in key areas of Ranchi, including near the Chief Minister's residence, Raj Bhavan, and the ED office at Doranda, from 10 am to 10 pm.

The ED's search at Chief Minister Hemant Soren's Delhi residence resulted in the seizure of Rs 36 lakh in cash, an SUV, and what officials describe as "incriminating" documents. The federal agency conducted the search at the 5/1 Shanti Niketan residence of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader in south Delhi on Monday. The operation lasted nearly 13 hours as part of an investigation into a money laundering case related to an alleged land deal in Jharkhand.
