Congress MP Imran Masood also accused the local police of being directly involved in the unrest that left four people dead and many others, including cops injured.

Talking to IANS, Chaudhary said that what is required now is peace and trust in the law.
"The atmosphere should remain calm, and we must work to maintain peace. The state government must ensure security for all law-abiding citizens," he said.

Further added that the rest of matter rests with the discretion of Supreme Court, for they themselves will decide if there exists anything illegal in matters related to violence.

While addressing that Chaudhary blamed certain people who came up to make inflammatory statement and then proceeded to emphasize need to continue rules of law within sensitive time zones of riots.

"The state is at working on the working rule; however the major responsibility of giving peace security lies with states only.

Chaudhary also raised a separate issue over the controversy surrounding the non-implementation of the PM Vishwakarma Yojana in Tamil Nadu.

The scheme to support artisans and craftsmen has been in place for more than one year, with 2.5 crore registrations across the country and more than 10 lakh beneficiaries.

Chaudhary said that there was no caste-based discrimination in the scheme as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin opposed the scheme.

"The scheme is run by the central government, and there is no burden on the state government," he explained.

Chaudhary further said that 76 percent of the beneficiaries in Tamil Nadu were women and that more than half belonged to the OBC category, which went on to refute the allegations that the scheme favored a particular caste. He alleged that Stalin was playing politics with the issue and asked him to change his stance for the benefit of the people of the state.

"I appeal to the Tamil Nadu government to take a positive initiative and support the 8.5 lakh beneficiaries in the state," he concluded.

This controversy comes after CM Stalin informed Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi that the Tamil Nadu government could not implement the PM Vishwakarma Yojana in its current form.
