In a separate statement, Atishi's cabinet colleague Saurabh Bharadwaj accused officials of intentionally withholding insulin from Kejriwal. "Today's events have made it abundantly clear that the chief minister's need for insulin was justified. However, officials under the BJP-led Centre were deliberately neglecting his medical needs. I ask the BJP members, if insulin wasn't necessary, then why administer it now? Their actions are drawing condemnation from around the globe," he asserted in his post on X.

According to a Tihar official, Kejriwal received two units of low-dose insulin on Monday evening based on the recommendation of doctors from AIIMS. His blood sugar level had reached 217 around 7 pm, prompting the medical staff at Tihar to initiate insulin therapy.

During a video conference held on April 20, specialists from AIIMS had advised Tihar doctors that insulin could be considered if Kejriwal's sugar levels exceeded a certain threshold, the official added.
