Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted on Thursday that the Congress party would arrest anyone who says "Ram Ram" if given the chance, accusing them of dividing India and creating two Muslim nations for electoral gains. At a rally in Mahendragarh, Haryana, he claimed the INDIA bloc aims to have five different Prime Ministers over the next five years. "The fight over 'ghee' has broken out in the alliance, even before the cow has given milk," Modi remarked.
Highlighting the Congress' reputation, Modi said the entire nation is aware of its motives. He accused the party of dividing the country into "India and two Muslim nations" to secure votes. "Now, INDI alliance people are saying, Muslims have the first right over the remaining part of India," he added.
Targeting West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, whose TMC is part of the INDIA bloc, Modi noted that despite the Calcutta High Court's annulment of OBC certificates issued to Muslims in the past decade, she refuses to accept the ruling.
"Till I am alive, no one can snatch the reservation for Dalits and tribals," Modi assured while campaigning for BJP candidate Dharambir Singh in Bhiwani-Mahendragarh, set to vote on May 25 along with nine other constituencies in Haryana.
Modi described the INDIA bloc as "extremely communal, casteist and nepotist", criticizing the Congress for not allowing the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya when it was in power. He told the crowd in Haryana, where "Ram Ram" is a common greeting, that the Congress would arrest those who say it if they had their way.
He further accused the Congress of rejecting an invitation to the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple and revealed that an advisor to Rahul Gandhi, referred to as 'shehzada', suggested the Congress would lock the temple if they gained power. "The Congress has insulted our devotion," he said.
In this election, Modi emphasized, the choice is not just for the Prime Minister but for the country's future. He criticized the INDIA bloc's plan for five rotating Prime Ministers, questioning the feasibility of such an arrangement and predicting it would become a source of ridicule in Haryana's village gatherings.
Modi claimed the INDIA bloc intends to take away reservations for SCs, STs, and OBCs and give them to those practicing "vote jihad." He referenced a West Bengal High Court ruling that annulled OBC certificates given to Muslims, highlighting the bloc's conspiracy against reservation policies.
"You must have seen in newspapers and on TV and social media... the high court of West Bengal has given its judgement. In Bengal also, INDI alliance, their conspiracy and anti-reservation mentality against reservation for SCs, STs, OBCs has been busted," Modi said.
He condemned the Bengal CM's announcement to disregard the court's decision and continue providing OBC reservations to Muslims, arguing that the Congress and its allies prioritize their vote bank over the rights of the downtrodden.
The Calcutta High Court had invalidated the OBC status for 77 classes in West Bengal, citing religion as the primary criterion for their classification. After the initial phases of Lok Sabha elections, Modi said the INDIA bloc began blaming the Election Commission and EVMs for their anticipated defeat.
Modi asserted that the INDIA bloc will not win for "saat janam" (seven lifetimes), and votes for the Congress are wasted. He also criticized the Congress for its stance on Article 370, claiming it kept Kashmir separate from India and now promises to restore it if in power.
Addressing the One Rank One Pension (OROP) issue, Modi accused the Congress of deceiving ex-servicemen for decades, asserting that his government implemented OROP with a significant financial commitment of Rs 1.25 lakh crore.
