The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has condemned the violence and atrocities against the Hindu minority in Bangladesh by Islamic fundamentalist groups.
RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale, on Saturday, issued a statement that stated the alarming increase in attacks, murders, looting, arson, and inhuman atrocities being perpetrated on women of the Hindu community. He demanded an end to such violations immediately.
Dattatreya Hosabale spoke out in great concern against the inaction of the Bangladesh government. He opined, "Instead of taking decisive steps to curb these attacks, the present Bangladesh government and other responsible agencies remain silent spectators. This apathy has emboldened perpetrators, ushering in a new phase of injustice and atrocities designed to suppress the democratic voices of the Hindu community seeking self-protection.
The RSS leadership strongly condemned the arrest of the ISKCON monk, Chinmoy Krishna Das, a prominent figure, leading peaceful demonstrations for the rights of Hindus in Bangladesh.
"The Bangladesh government is acting grossly unjust by incarcerating a peaceful activist such as Shri Chinmoy Krishna Das, who committed no other fault than working towards a non-violent movement for the safety and dignity of Hindus," Hosabale said.
The RSS appealed to the Bangladesh government and the international community to act fast and decisively.
He added, "The RSS appeals to the Bangladeshi government to stop all atrocities against Hindus, ensure justice for the victims, and release Chinmoy Krishna Das without delay. The RSS also appeals to the Government of India to step up efforts to safeguard the rights of Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh."
It also appealed to the world community and institutions to provide support to the victims because it is in the interest of world peace and the spirit of brotherhood.
