Amit Malviya, the BJP's IT head, highlighted this development in a post on X: "The unconstitutional directive from 1966, which barred government employees from participating in RSS activities, has been revoked by the Modi Government." He further commented that the original ban should never have been enacted.

In contrast, Congress member Jairam Ramesh voiced his perspective on X, noting: “Sardar Patel imposed a ban on the RSS in February 1948 following the assassination of Gandhi ji. This ban was later lifted on the condition of improved conduct. Yet, even after this, the RSS did not display the national flag in Nagpur.”

The 1966 directive had prohibited government employees from associating with the RSS and Jamaat-e-Islami. Nonetheless, several states, including Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, had already lifted these restrictions on government employees’ involvement with the RSS.
