Shortly after his declaration on 'X' platform, Brijendra Singh promptly headed to Delhi to meet with Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and formally embrace the party's membership.

This decision by Brijendra Singh comes after a significant event in October 2023 when his father, Birender Singh, issued an ultimatum to the BJP during a rally in Jind. He stated his intention to leave the party if it persisted with its alliance with the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP), led by Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala in Haryana.

Recent reports suggest that Brijendra Singh, renowned for his transition from bureaucrat to politician, is likely to be nominated as the Congress candidate from Hisar.

In the previous Lok Sabha elections held in 2019, Brijendra Singh secured victory over Dushyant Chautala of the JJP and Bhavya Bishnoi, then representing the Congress.
