The arrest of Soren, linked to a money laundering case involving alleged land fraud, transpired after his resignation as the Jharkhand chief minister. The meeting discussed the implications of these events on the opposition's strategy. In the wake of Soren's departure, the name of State Transport Minister Champai Soren has been put forth as the potential new chief minister.
