Madhya Pradesh shows 90 candidates in legal trouble out of 230, while 34 have serious charges. Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh exhibit worrying figures: 61 and 17 winning candidates respectively have criminal cases.
Conversely, Mizoram stands out positively with only three winning candidates facing criminal charges.
Disturbingly, among these victors, three declare murder cases, 19 have attempted murder charges, and 11 face allegations related to crimes against women.
The report highlights Congress and BJP figures: 114 Congress winners face criminal cases, 66 among them dealing with serious charges, while 105 BJP winners face criminal charges, 51 in serious legal trouble. This analysis raises crucial concerns about elected representatives' criminal backgrounds across these states.
