High Court Declines Request to Oust Kejriwal from Chief Minister Position

Emphasizing the primacy of national interest over personal agendas, the court underscored that while individual concerns are important, they must yield to the greater good of the nation. Acting Chief Justice Manmohan and Justice Manmeet PS Arora iterated that as a court of law, their mandate is to adhere to legal principles. 

The Delhi High Court declined to entertain a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) aimed at ousting Arvind Kejriwal from his position as chief minister, following his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with a money laundering case linked to the excise policy. 

Emphasizing the primacy of national interest over personal agendas, the court underscored that while individual concerns are important, they must yield to the greater good of the nation. Acting Chief Justice Manmohan and Justice Manmeet PS Arora iterated that as a court of law, their mandate is to adhere to legal principles.

They directed the petitioner to seek redress through the appropriate channels, affirming that their jurisdiction didn't extend to this matter, having previously rejected a similar plea. In response, the petitioner's counsel expressed intentions to withdraw the petition and explore recourse through the Lieutenant Governor. Consequently, the court dismissed the plea, permitting the petitioner to withdraw it.
