On Thursday, Jharkhand Governor C P Radhakrishnan nominated Champai Soren, the legislative party leader of JMM (Jharkhand Mukti Morcha), as the chief minister and extended an invitation for him to take the oath of office. Nitin Madan Kulkarni, the Principal Secretary to the Governor, confirmed the invitation, stating, "We have invited him to take the oath. Now they will decide when to take it."
Earlier in the day, Champai Soren, leading a delegation of the JMM-led coalition, met with the governor, urging him to promptly accept their claim to form the government due to prevailing "confusion" in the state. The nomination of Champai Soren as the chief minister marks a significant development in Jharkhand's political landscape, and the timing of the oath-taking ceremony is yet to be decided by the concerned parties.
