Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has taken legal action against Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and General Secretary Jairam Ramesh for allegedly circulating misleading and defamatory news about him on platform X.

According to Gadkari's lawyer, Balendu Shekhar, Gadkari was dismayed by the dissemination of content from the official Congress handle on the microblogging platform, which distorted the context and meaning of Gadkari's statements.

The legal notice asserts that Kharge and Ramesh deliberately shared a 19-second video clip of Gadkari's interview with "The Lallantop" web portal, omitting crucial contextual information. The lawyer contends that this was done with the malicious intent of creating confusion and tarnishing Gadkari's reputation, as well as potentially causing discord within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the upcoming general election.

The notice alleges that Gadkari's interview was misrepresented through the selective presentation of the video clip and a Hindi caption, which portrayed Gadkari's remarks in a negative light. Despite being aware of the full context of Gadkari's interview, Kharge and Ramesh purportedly chose to propagate the misleading narrative to smear Gadkari's image.

The legal notice demands the immediate removal of the mentioned post from platform X and a written apology to Gadkari within three days. Failure to comply within 24 hours of receiving the notice may result in further legal action being pursued by Gadkari.
