Decision to build Ram Mandir in Ayodhya should have been taken on next day of Independence, PM Modi says Karnataka Speech

Blaming the Congress for the prolonged delay, PM Modi asserted that the party continuously obstructed efforts towards the temple's construction. He emphasized the endurance and struggle endured by ancestors over 500 years for the realization of the Ram Mandir, stating that such a significant decision should have been made immediately after Independence. He stressed the necessity of resolute determination, symbolized by the phrase 'chhappan inch ka seena', underscoring the power derived from individual votes.

During a grand public gathering in Sirsi town, Karnataka's Uttara Kannada district, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his belief that the decision to construct the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya should have been made promptly after India gained independence in 1947.

Reflecting on the recent completion of the Ram Mandir, PM Modi criticized what he perceived as the pinnacle of appeasement politics in the nation, highlighting instances where invitations extended by the temple's trustees were declined. He questioned whether Karnataka and the country as a whole would continue to support the Congress.

Further, PM Modi accused the Congress of prioritizing vote bank politics over the sanctity of the Ram Mandir, citing the Ansari family's acceptance of the Supreme Court's verdict despite their historical opposition to the temple's construction.

Turning his attention to the law and order situation in Karnataka, PM Modi condemned the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government for its failure to address rising incidents of crime and its alleged support of anti-social and anti-national elements.

He cited specific incidents, including those involving a tribal sister in Belagavi, a Jain monk in Chikkodi, and a college student in Hubli, which he deemed as shameful. PM Modi criticized the government's purported reluctance to act decisively, attributing it to a policy of appeasement. He also referenced the handling of a bomb blast in a Bengaluru café, accusing the Congress of initially downplaying the severity of the situation and utilizing organizations like the PFI for electoral gains.
