The Congress party, led by president Mallikarjun Kharge, released a "black paper" titled ‘10 Saal Anyay Kaal’ to highlight what it perceives as the "failures" of the Modi government. The document addresses issues such as unemployment, price rise, farmers' distress, failure to conduct a caste census, and injustice to women.
The timing of the release is significant, as it precedes the government's tabling of a ‘white paper’ on the “mismanagement” of the economy prior to 2014. This move by the Congress aims to draw attention to alleged shortcomings in governance under the Modi administration.
Kharge criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi, noting that while he often references Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi when questioned about price rise, the current government is in power, and therefore, should be held accountable for its actions.
Furthermore, Kharge highlighted Modi's promises, particularly regarding job creation and ensuring Minimum Support Price (MSP) for farmers. He urged the prime minister to acknowledge if these promises were not fulfilled, instead of making new guarantees.
In conclusion, Kharge asserted that the Congress, which played a pivotal role in India's independence, is committed to leading the country out of what it perceives as the "darkness of injustice" propagated by the BJP.
