Congress Determined To Organise Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Arunachal, Affirms AICC Spokesperson

Gupta emphasized the party's determination to proceed with the yatra, stating that the Congress would not succumb to pressure tactics from the Centre aimed at disrupting the event.

Harish Shankar Gupta, spokesperson for the All India Congress Committee (AICC), expressed confidence on Thursday that the party would receive permission to organize the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Arunachal Pradesh. Speaking at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan, Gupta informed reporters that the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) had submitted an application to the state government seeking approval for the yatra.

Gupta emphasized the party's determination to proceed with the yatra, stating that the Congress would not succumb to pressure tactics from the Centre aimed at disrupting the event. The APCC is yet to finalize the route for the yatra.

He further disclosed that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to arrive in Itanagar on January 20. During his visit, Gandhi plans to engage with students, farmers, teachers, and senior citizens to understand their grievances.

The primary focus of the yatra, according to Gupta, will be to promote communal harmony, secularism, and address the issue of youth unemployment. Accusing the central government of being anti-poor, anti-people, and anti-development, Gupta asserted that the BJP-led government's policies primarily favored businessmen over the impoverished.
