Chandrababu Naidu Confirms Preservation of Muslim Quota in Andhra

TDP President N. Chandrababu Naidu criticized Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy for his fake news campaign about the possible revocation of Muslim reservation during a future NDA government.

The ally TDP of the BJP has promised the Muslim community in Andhra Pradesh that their four percent reservation would not be touched.

Naidu, addressing a programme in Nellore, promised a financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh to each Muslim to attend Haj pilgrimage once NDA comes into power in the state. He assurance on the stand of TDP that even though TDP was part of the NDA government earlier, it has always worked to protect the rights of the Muslim community and would continue to do so.

He promised to revive the Gurukula schools for Muslims, which the YSR Congress regime had stopped and also promised to start new projects for the community once it comes to power.

He also promised to complete all pending projects within six months once the NDA government is formed in the state.

He criticised the YSRCP for supporting the Citizenship Amendment Act and the NRC and reminded that the TDP was always working to protect the rights of the Muslim community. He said Jagan Mohan Reddy had been more interested in his personal luxuries than the development of the community.

He reminded the public that the Muslim community had their contribution in various sectors like the financial sector, cinema industry, tourism industry and the agricultural sector. He told how the Muslims were contributing to the development of the society.

He lauded the Muslim population of Hyderabad for their development, stating that the efforts made by the TDP government were responsible for the development. He reminded that during the TDP regime, Urdu University was established and the Haj House in Hyderabad was constructed.

He rebuked Jagan Mohan Reddy for turning a blind eye to the attacks on the Muslim women in the past few years and said he was solely responsible for the neglect in the construction of the mosque and the stoppage of the direct flights of the Haj pilgrims.
