CBI Raids Residences of Former Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel Following ED Searches

His advisor, Vinod Verma, and Bhilai MLA Devendra Yadav were reportedly also raided by the CBI.

Two weeks following the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has now raided Congress leader and former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel's residences in Raipur and Bhilai. His advisor, Vinod Verma, and Bhilai MLA Devendra Yadav were reportedly also raided by the CBI.

So far, the CBI has not made an official announcement about the raids, and the particular corruption case for which these raids were conducted is not clear.

The CBI and ED are investigating several corruption charges against Bhupesh Baghel, such as the Mahadev betting app scam, irregularities in recruitment in Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission, and other connected cases.

Commenting on the development, Bhupesh Baghel posted a message on X (ex-Twitter), confirming the CBI raids. His message, however, did not reveal which corruption case the raids were related to.
