Capt Ajay Singh Yadav Resigns from Congress, Alleges 'Shabby Treatment', Haryana

Haryana politician Captain Ajay Singh Yadav resigned from Congress, alleging "shabby treatment" after Sonia Gandhi left as the party's President. Yadav wrote on X: "It was a tough call for me to take this decision, as my family has been with the party since 1952, as a fact you would not know that my father Rao Abhey Singh became MLA in the year 1952.".

This is a wrong practice and I am disappointed with the party's high command which has treated me shabbily after Sonia Gandhi left the post of Congress president, Yadav said.

On Friday, social media X quoted Ajay Singh Yadav saying he is waiting to hear from Congress President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge ji for the acceptance of his resignation. ''Thereafter, I will meet the media and provide my version of the harassment and embarrassment meted out to me over the last two years by certain leaders," he adds.

Reaffirming his political intentions, Yadav added: "I am not a saint and am a full-time politician. Let this resignation be accepted by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge ji, after which I will weigh my future course of action and give a detailed version about the internal workings as well as the hurdles created by certain leaders to cut down my political career.".

The disgruntled leader submitted his resignation letter on Thursday stating on X: "I have sent my resignation letter to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge ji from the position of Chairman of AICC OBC Department and also from the primary membership of the Indian National Congress."

Ajay Singh Yadav is the third important leader to quit the Congress in Haryana over the last two years. Till now, two important leaders had exited - Kuldeep Bishnoi and Kiran Choudhry from the Congress to the BJP.

He hasn't talked about future plans and will meet the press to present "his version of the harassment and embarrassment" he has been subjected to over the last two years.
