Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished the country with great affection on Monday as the devotees marked the second day of Chaitra Navratri, which is in honor of Goddess Brahmacharini.
Using his X handle, PM Modi posted his wishes, saying, "The blessings of Devi Maa on Navratri fill the devotees with happiness, peace, and new energy."
Besides, he shared a devotional prayer on his social media, asking people to listen to a song sung by Rajlakshmi Sanjay. The song is a Shakti worship song and pays tribute to the divine feminine power.
Chaitra Navratri, which started on March 30, will go on till April 7. This nine-day festival is dedicated to the worship of the nine avatars of Goddess Durga, and each day is celebrated in a different avatar of the deity. The devotees follow special rituals, prayers, and fasts during this holy period.
On the second day, Goddess Durga is worshiped in her Brahmacharini avatar, representing the spinster stage of Goddess Parvati. Throughout the nation, huge numbers of devotees flocked to temples to make their offerings. Many were observed waiting in lines at temples early in the morning to receive blessings.
In Jammu and Kashmir, thousands of pilgrims visited the holy Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra. Situated on the Trikuta Hills, the cave shrine has been witnessing a non-stop flow of pilgrims since the festival started. Authorities have made far-reaching security and safety arrangements to meet the heavy flow of devotees.
In Delhi, the Kalkaji temple witnessed a huge crowd of devotees. The head priest of the temple, Surendranath Avdhoot, said, "During Navratri, prayers are offered to various forms of Goddess Durga every day. On the second day, Goddess Brahmacharini is worshipped."
One of the believers, who had just finished her prayer at the temple, expressed her happiness by stating, "The darshan was a wonderful experience. Everything was running like clockwork, and I felt exceptionally blessed."
At the same time, in Ayodhya, devotees flocked to different temples, including the iconic Ram temple and Hanuman Garhi. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also wished on social media.
On the holy day of second day of Chaitra Navratri, I wish Maa Brahmacharini bestows joy, prosperity, and good health in every home. May Maa Brahmacharini's grace, the second form of Adi Shakti Maa Bhagwati, remain with all the devotees forever. Jai Maa Brahmacharini!" he posted.
