The contest has drawn significant attention, with the NDA set to face veteran election strategist and Jan Suraaj Party leader Prashant Kishor, among other candidates.
Sinha, a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), had been announced as the BJP's candidate on Tuesday for the by-election, which became necessary following the resignation of BJP national president Nitin Nabin from the Bankipur assembly constituency.
Speaking at a press conference, Sinha said, "The BJP had made me the NDA candidate for the bypoll to the Bankipur assembly seat. I express my gratitude to the central and state leadership. However, due to family reasons, I am unable to contest the bypoll."
He also stated that he had conveyed his decision to Bihar BJP president Sanjay Saraogi.
Following his withdrawal, the BJP declared 32-year-old Neeraj Kumar Sinha as its candidate for the July 30 Bankipur assembly bypoll.
