US President Joe Biden has extended warm congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi following the resounding victory of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, securing an impressive 293 seats and ensuring PM Modi's third term in office.
In a post on a social media platform, President Biden expressed his felicitations, stating, "Congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the National Democratic Alliance on their victory, and the nearly 650 million voters in this historic election.
"The friendship between our nations is only growing as we unlock a shared future of unlimited potential."
Prior to this, US Department of State Spokesperson Matthew Miller stated that he believes the partnership between the United States and India is going to continue to be strong. Miller had then remarked on the extant robust relations at the governmental and people-to-people levels.
"I expect a continued close partnership between the United States and India. There is a great partnership both at the government level, at the – and at the people-to-people level, and I fully expect that to continue."
Russian President Vladimir Putin, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, and French President Emmanuel Macron, among other world leaders, also wished PM Modi, recognizing his leadership for the third term consecutively for the headship of the Indian government.

Russian President Vladimir Putin engaged in a telephonic conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, warmly extending congratulations on the BJP-led NDA's triumph in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections. Putin emphasized that the election results spoke volumes about Modi's "high political authority."
"This is a reflection of the support of the political course pursued by the Indian leadership, recognition of the results achieved in the socio-economic development of the country and the strengthening of its international authority," the Kremlin quoted Putin as saying during the conversation with PM Modi.
"Both sides expressed satisfaction with the current level of especially privileged strategic partnership between Russia and India, which will continue to expand in all directions. It was agreed to continue constructive personal interaction between the leaders of the two countries," it added.
In a separate congratulatory telegram sent to PM Modi, the Russian President said that the voting results once again confirmed the Indian leader's "personal high political authority" and support for his course towards accelerated socio-economic development of India, including the protection of its interests on the world stage.
"We attach great importance to the relationship of a particularly privileged strategic partnership with New Delhi. I am confident that the interests of the friendly peoples of Russia and India are in the interests of further building up traditional mutually beneficial cooperation and filling it with new content," added the Russian President.
"I sincerely wish you new success in your government activities, as well as good health and prosperity," Putin concluded.
India-UK friendship will continue to thrive, says Sunak in call with Prime Minister Narendra Modi
UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak reached out to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, extending warm congratulations on his re-election victory and expressing best wishes for his third term in office.
"Today I spoke to Narendra Modi to congratulate him on his election victory. The UK and India share the closest of friendships, and together that friendship will continue to thrive," Sunak tweeted on X platform after his telephonic conversation with PM Modi.
Both Prime Ministers highlighted the strength of the India-UK relationship and their shared ambition to strengthen it in the years to come, the release issued by the UK Foreign Ministry said.
"Both agreed to stay in touch and looked forward to seeing each other at the G7 Leaders' Summit in Italy next week," it added.
Earlier, Sunak had also appreciated India's rise as an 'economic powerhouse' and said economies like India, Indonesia and Nigeria are playing a key role in reshaping the global economic landscape.
