Bharat Ratna Honored to Former PMs Narasimha Rao, Charan Singh, and More Posthumously by President

The solemn occasion saw the families of the recipients graciously accepting the awards on their behalf. President Droupadi Murmu, in a distinguished ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan, bestowed the esteemed Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honor, upon noteworthy individuals who have left indelible marks on the nation's history. Among the esteemed recipients were former Prime Ministers P V Narasimha Rao and Chaudhary Charan Singh, eminent agriculture scientist M S Swaminathan, and the two-time former Bihar Chief Minister Karpoori Thakur, all of whom were honored posthumously for their remarkable contributions.

The ceremony, graced by the presence of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and other dignitaries, underscored the significance of the contributions made by these exemplary individuals to the nation's progress and development.

This year's Bharat Ratna awards also included recognition for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stalwart and former Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani, affirming the government's commitment to acknowledging excellence and dedication across various spheres of service to the nation.
