The International Gita Mahotsav (IGM) in Kurukshetra has garnered praise from Home Minister Amit Shah for its efforts in spreading the timeless wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita. Shah highlighted the Gita's relevance in addressing individual, societal, national, and global challenges.
He commended the government's initiatives in elevating cultural harmony globally through the IGM since 2016 and emphasized the historical significance of Kurukshetra, where Lord Shri Krishna imparted the profound teachings of the Gita over 5,000 years ago.
Shah shared personal experiences, acknowledging the Gita's teachings instilled by his mother, which have guided him through life's trials without succumbing to despair.
He lauded Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for expanding the IGM's format and facilitating the global dissemination of the Gita's timeless wisdom. Shah also credited the transformative decisions made by the leadership, including the construction of the Shri Ram temple and the abrogation of Article 370, as steps towards awakening India's self.
Khattar echoed the sentiments, emphasizing the eternal and universal nature of the Bhagavad Gita's teachings, acknowledging its significance globally. He highlighted the success of the IGM, noting its organization in various countries and the interest expressed by other nations to host similar events.
The event also featured addresses by Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev and Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Maharaj, adding their perspectives on the significance of the Bhagavad Gita.
