Annie Raja of the CPI criticized recent decision of Rahul Gandhi of contesting from Rae Bareli Lok Sabha constituency and his candidature in the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency.
The Wayanad constituency was going to vote in the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections on April 26.
Annie Raja made this observation, "He should have shown political integrity. He should have informed the people of Wayanad of his decision to contest from Rae Bareli. It is in-tolerable that he kept this information from the people of Wayanad."
Annie Raja, who is the wife of CPI General Secretary D. Raja, contested as an unexpected candidate from the party since CPI is one of the allies of the INDIA bloc.
Rahul Gandhi's unexpected decision of contesting from Wayanad surprised everybody during the 2019 Lok Sabha polls and won with the highest margin of 4.37 lakh votes in Kerala.
