After 'Successful' US Visit, PM Modi to Address Rally in Haryana's Gohana Today

The Prime Minister is scheduled to attend his second public meeting in the state on Wednesday, wooing electorates of 22 Assembly constituencies, and BJP aims to make this rally a grand success with record attendance of crowds. Gohana is to be a location for holding public meeting in Sonipat district.

Just after concluding his three-day 'successful' visit to the US, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to return to Haryana's election arena, as assembly polls are scheduled for October 5.

Preparations for the rally are in full swing, organizers said on Tuesday, with a special aluminum 'pandal' at the venue. The three helipads prepared near the site of the rally witnessed helicopter take off and landing rehearsals on Monday.

The rally will see a few senior BJP leaders, including Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, sharing the dais with the Prime Minister; scores of BJP candidates from this region are expected to be present at the rally that is going to see tens of thousands of crowds.

The party leaders and workers have been asked to make the Prime Minister's rally a grand success.

The rally is perceived to be significant as it passes through voters of 22 Assembly constituencies — 18 located within the Sonipat and Rohtak Lok Sabha constituencies and four within the Panipat district.
Regarding the rally, several roads which are transit routes have been diverted by the district administration in order not to cause public inconvenience. Buildings in the neighborhood have been vacated and kept under police supervision.

BJP district president Jasbir Dodwa said, "This rally will be historic." Prime Minister Modi began his first rally from Kurukshetra on September 15 and launched the BJP's campaign to retain the helm in the state for the third consecutive term.

Prime Minister Modi would be seeking votes for 23 candidates whose seats fall in districts along the GT Road belt, which includes Panchkula, Ambala, Kurukshetra, Karnal, and Panipat districts and parts of Yamunanagar, Sonipat, and Kaithal.

Polling for Haryana's 90-member Legislative Assembly is scheduled to take place on October 5, while the votes will be counted on October 8.
