On Friday, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) claimed that National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal was attacked in Vikaspuri area here during the 'Jan Sampark Abhiyan' campaign.
The love and blessings of the public in Vikaspuri are apparently giving sleepless nights to Arvind Kejriwal's adversary BJP as during a padyatra held in this area, BJP goons tried to attack the public leader. Saurabh Bharadwaj AAP Leader through an X video.
He said that over the last few days, every time Arvind Kejriwal meets with the people, he receives love and affection.
He said that efforts had also been made earlier to poison Arvind Kejriwal in jail as well.
"When Arvind Kejriwal was in jail, his insulin was stopped, attempts were made for his death," Bharadwaj added.
"Yesterday, he went to an ice cream shop in Connaught Place, followed by a paan shop, and soon, many youngsters, children, and elderly people gathered to talk and take selfies with him," he said.
This is what the BJP cannot accept and today, BJP-affiliated individuals tried to attack Arvind Kejriwal, he added.
There was a major lapse in Kejriwal's security in Vikaspuri while he was campaigning.
As reported, five or six individuals managed to get near the ex Delhi Chief Minister and were attempting to strike him, but AAP workers in the security circle somehow managed to stop this potential attack on Kejriwal.
Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia described the attack on Arvind Kejriwal as extremely reprehensible and disturbing.
"It is clear that this attack has been carried out by the goons of BJP. In case anything happens to Arvind Kejriwal, the entire responsibility would be of BJP. We won't be afraid; we will stick to our goal," former Deputy Chief Minister said.
He said BJP first tried to kill Arvind Kejriwal in jail, and now the court has freed him and he is coming out every day to meet the people of Delhi, so BJP is trying to kill him through its goons.
"BJP wants to finish off Arvind Kejriwal by any means because they will never be able to defeat him in elections," he said.
Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains stated that the attack on Arvind Kejriwal is very condemnable and alarming.
"It's clear that BJP managed this through its goons. If anything happens to Kejriwal ji, BJP will be fully responsible," he said.
He added that Kejriwal has been a beacon of honest politics and a pioneer of change, transforming Delhi's & Punjab's education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
His leadership is crucial not just for Delhi but for India's future. We are not going to get intimidated—AAP is committed to its cause," the minister said.
