After Covid-19 pandemic restrictions, Indian automobile sector is coming back on track. India has the potential to become the biggest auto market for all the global automobiles companies. Recently, India surpassed Japan to become the third largest auto market in the world behind the US and China. In auto expo 2023, there are many new models and concepts launched by the top automakers. The event is now open for the general public till January 18th 2023. A total of 75 products were launched at the fair. The newly launched SUVs and electric vehicles made this edition special. The 16th edition of Auto expo showcased many future commercial and passenger vehicles with stylish interior and exterior designs, safety equipments and advanced technology. Here's a list of the top 10 cars that were unveiled at Auto Expo 2023.
1. Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door SUV (Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom):- This SUV is powered by the 1.5-litre K15B, 1498 cc petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 101 bhp at 6000rpm and a maximum torque of 130 Nm at 4000rpm. The two variants of this SUV come with the five-speed manual and a four-speed automatic transmission. READ MORE
2. Maruti Suzuki Fronx (Rs.8.00 lakh ex-showroom):- The Maruti FRONX is powered by 1197 cc petrol engine paired with manual transmission. Bookings are opened by paying a token amount of Rs 11,000.
3. Tata Harrier EV concept (expected Rs 30 lakh) It has a dual-motor all-wheel drive setup. The Harrier EV gets charge from vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V). The Harrier EV is expected to have a battery capacity of about 60 kWh and offers 400 km mileage. READ MORE
4. Tata Sierra EV (Rs 25 lakh ex-showroom):- The SUV is expected to get a new 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with manual and automatic gearbox options. 5. Hyundai IONIQ 6 (Rs 50.00 lakh showroom) :- This EV has a 53kWh battery paired with the dual motor that can be charged from 10 percent to 80 percent in 18 minutes. The top speed of this ev is 185km/h. It goes from 0 to 100km/h in just 5.1 seconds. READ MORE
6. Toyota bz4X EV ( Rs 70 lakh ex-showroom) :- Toyota Kirloskar Motor showcases bz4X EV at auto expo 2023. It is powered by two batteries:- a 63.4-kWh battery and a 65.5-kWh paired with dual-motor model. Its 6.6 kW charging takes for a 0 to 80% charging time of 30 minutes.
7. MG Hector (Rs 14 lakh):- This SUV is powered by the 1.5 L Turbocharged Intercooled Petrol 1451 cc engine that produces a maximum power of 143 PS at 5000 rpm and a maximum torque of 250 Nm at 1600-3600 rpm. It offers 9.0 kmpl mileage. It comes with a 60.0 litres fuel tank. It has a 192mm ground clearance and 587 liters boot space. READ MORE
8. Tata Safari 2023 (expected Rs 16 lakh):- The SUV is expected to come with a new 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with manual and automatic transmission. The new model will have high-end features along with exterior and interior stylish design. READ MORE
9. New Kia Carnival (expected Rs 40 lakh):- The new-generation Kia Carnival will get the 2199 cc diesel engine that produces a maximum power of 200bhp and a maximum torque of 440 Nm. The engine is paired with a 8 speed automatic transmission.
10. Mahindra Thar 5-Door (expected Rs 15 lakh) :- The 5-door Mahindra Thar SUV will get the1447 cc petrol engine and 1997 cc diesel engines that are paired with both automatic and manual transmission. The Thar provides a mileage of 15.2 kmpl and also it has a 226mm ground clearance.
