Serena Williams marked a highly anticipated return to professional singles tennis after nearly four years, entering the 2026 Wimbledon Championships with a wild card. While her comeback ended in a first-round loss, the 44-year-old icon once again ensured she remained at the centre of global attention both on and off Centre Court.
Much of the post-match conversation, however, extended beyond the result. Spectators and viewers were quick to notice the striking jewellery she wore during the match, particularly a diamond engagement ring from her husband, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian.
The ring, reportedly valued at around $3 million, is said to feature a 17-carat oval-cut white diamond at its centre, complemented by two additional stones. It drew significant attention throughout the tightly contested 2-hour-22-minute encounter at Wimbledon.
Her appearance was further defined by a subtle yet polished beauty statement. Williams opted for a minimalist manicure that aligned with the ongoing glazed chrome trend. Rather than bold shades or elaborate nail designs, she chose a soft, refined finish.
Her nails were shaped into a medium-length almond silhouette, designed to elongate the fingers while maintaining an understated elegance. The base combined sheer milky nude tones with a hint of blush pink, producing a “your nails but better” aesthetic. A fine pearlescent finish added a soft, reflective sheen that caught the light without veering into overt metallic styling.
The look complemented both her diamond ring and her all-white Wimbledon outfit, blending into the tournament’s traditional dress code while still making a quiet statement. The style also reflected Williams’ long-standing interest in nail art and beauty trends.
Adding to her standout accessories was a luxury timepiece: the Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Chronograph by Swiss watchmaker Audemars Piguet. The diamond-studded watch, featuring pink-gold detailing, stood out even in a setting known for its display of high-end wristwear.
Among other notable luxury watches spotted at Centre Court were pieces worn by David Beckham and Romeo Beckham. Williams’ watch, however, drew particular attention for its intricate craftsmanship and gem detailing, which included a diamond-set bezel and a complex white-gold structure.
Technically, the watch features a 22-carat pink-gold oscillating weight, an 18-carat white-gold handset, and numerals filled with luminescent material. Its bezel is set with 32 brilliant-cut diamonds, contributing to a total of 44 jewels within the mechanism.
On court, Williams still showed glimpses of the power and precision that defined her career as a 23-time Grand Slam champion. In her opening-round match on Centre Court, she faced 20-year-old Australian Maya Joint, ranked 87th in the world.
The contest lasted 2 hours and 22 minutes, with Joint eventually prevailing 6-3, 6-7 (6), 6-3. The young Australian held her nerve in key moments, countering Williams’ power with composed shot-making to secure one of the most significant wins of her career and end the veteran’s return campaign in the opening round.
