Prenatal depression may lead to heart problems after childbirth: Study

The most significant association was between depression and ischemic heart disease, with individuals with depression having an 83 per cent higher risk of developing the condition than those without a depression diagnosis. People with prenatal depression also had a 60 per cent higher risk of arrhythmia/cardiac arrest; a 61 per cent higher risk of cardiomyopathy; and a 32 per cent higher risk of new high blood pressure diagnosis.
Indian diet, tea and turmeric lowered Covid severity, deaths: ICMR study

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the death rate was reportedly 5-8 fold lower in India which is densely populated as compared to lesser-populated western countries. The study, conducted by an international team of scientists including from India, Brazil, Jordan, Switzerland, and Saudi Arabia, aimed to investigate whether dietary habits were associated with the variations in Covid-19 severity and deaths between Western and Indian population.

According to studies, globally, about 20 lakh people die yearly due to liver diseases. Around 70 percent of people in India suffer from visceral fat obesity and 15 percent from fatty liver, with men more commonly affected than women. These findings are based on data of 7,000 healthy and symptomatic individuals who underwent liver screening in the last one year at NURA Health Screening Centre.
