John Abraham Hits 305 Kmph on His New 1100cc Superbike

Now, almost two decades on, John has taken his love of speed to new heights by adding yet another massive machine to his impressive bike collection. An avid motorbike enthusiast from way back, he's credited with giving a big boost to India's superbike craze.

Bollywood actor John Abraham stunned fans in 2004 by riding a Hayabusa at 300 kmph through the city streets in the movie Dhoom. Although the high-voltage chase scene—where he was chased by Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra—was staged for the sake of cinema, it became legendary among motorcyclists.

Now, almost two decades on, John has taken his love of speed to new heights by adding yet another massive machine to his impressive bike collection. An avid motorbike enthusiast from way back, he's credited with giving a big boost to India's superbike craze.

In a conversation with IANS recently, the actor, who was last seen on the big screen in The Diplomat, spilled some beans about his new acquisition, the Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory.

John said, "I have a 1100cc engine in my motorcycle. It's a large cubic capacity bike. It has a B4 engine, and is highly powerful."

When asked if the motorcycle has a turbocharger—a device that increases the fuel-air mixture for more explosive burning—John clarified that it does not.

"I've increased the power to around 235bhp. That's extremely powerful for a bike. The power to weight ratio is insane. The bike can reach a speed of around 360 kilometers per hour but I've only gone up to 305 kmph," he said.

Looking back at his early career days, John had earlier told IANS that he was dropped after his debut performance. But instead of brooding over that disappointment, he decided to concentrate on recreating his path in show business.

I think in terms of working towards creating my future, and don't look back at my career," he had told IANS, describing how this positive attitude towards the future helped him overcome early setbacks and welcome the prospects ahead.

"You are as good as your last innings. So, you have to look in front. Of course, it's very important for the film trade to know, and the audience to know your filmography," he had said.

"But, you as a person have to look in front. It's for the audience to look at your filmography," he added.
