Vinod Kumar, the father of two young children who tragically lost their lives at the hands of barber Sajid in their own home on March 19, made a desperate attempt to end his own life by setting a motorcycle ablaze and attempting self-immolation on Sunday.
Swift intervention by the police prevented Vinod Kumar from succumbing to his self-destructive actions.
Expressing his profound anguish, Vinod Kumar revealed his frustration over the apparent failure of the police to ascertain the motive behind his sons' brutal murder.
"My sole concern lies in understanding the reason behind the merciless killing of my beloved children," he articulated.
Efforts are underway by the authorities to console Vinod Kumar amidst his grief-stricken state.
The primary suspect, Sajid, met his demise in a police encounter merely two hours following the heinous incident on Tuesday. Meanwhile, his sibling Javed, implicated as the second suspect in the Budaun double homicide, was apprehended in Bareilly on Thursday.
Sajid, who had recently commenced operating a barbershop in the neighborhood, allegedly launched a vicious attack with a knife on three siblings – Ayush (12), Honey (8), and Piyush (10). Tragically, Ayush and Honey succumbed to their injuries, while Piyush was rushed to a medical facility with severe wounds, fighting for his life.
