Republic Day Parade: World's Only Serving Horsed Cavalry Regiment Leads Army Contingent

The Indian Army contingent at the 75th Republic Day parade showcased a remarkable and unique display, led by the 61st Cavalry—the only serving horsed cavalry regiment in the world. The contingent, commanded by Major Yashdeep Ahlawat, brought a sense of tradition and history to the Kartavya Path on Friday.

Following this awe-inspiring display, the parade featured a procession of modern military might. The T-90 'Bhishma' main battle tanks, the NAG missile system, a tank destroyer crafted by the DRDO, and infantry combat and all-terrain vehicles formed a formidable mechanized column.

Continuing the display of indigenous capabilities, the parade showcased the medium-range Pinaka Multiple Rocket Launcher System—a testament to India's commitment to self-reliance in defense technology.

The procession unfolded further with a total of 11 mechanized columns and 12 marching contingents, showcasing the diversity and strength of the Indian armed forces. The skies above the Kartavya Path were graced by a fly-past featuring Advanced Light Helicopters of the Army Aviation Corps.

The grandeur of the parade is set to reach its climax with a spectacular fly-past by 46 aircraft of the Indian Air Force, showcasing the country's aerial prowess. The combination of traditional horse-mounted cavalry and cutting-edge military technology symbolizes India's evolution and commitment to maintaining a strong and diverse defense force.
