On the eve of the 75th Republic Day, President Droupadi Murmu approved 80 gallantry awards, including six Kirti Chakra and 16 Shaurya Chakra. The awards also included 311 defense decorations for military and other personnel. Three of the six Kirti Chakra and two of the 16 Shaurya Chakra were awarded posthumously.
The Kirti Chakra awardees include Major Digvijay Singh Rawat of the Parachute Regiment, Major Deependra Vikram Basnet from the Sikh Regiment, and Havildar Pawan Kumar Yadav from the Mahar Regiment. The posthumous recipients are Captain Anshuman Singh, Havildar Abdul Majid, and Sepoy Pawan Kumar.
Major Digvijay Singh Rawat was recognized for establishing an innovative intelligence network in Manipur that accurately mapped insurgent groups through painstaking efforts.
Among the Shaurya Chakra awardees are Major Maneo Francis, Major Amandeep Jakhar, Naib Subedar Baria Sanjay Kumar Bhamar Singh, Havildar Sanjay Kumar, Parshotam Kumar (civilian), Lieutenant Bimal Ranjan Behera from the Indian Navy, Wing Commander Shailesh Singh (pilot), Flight Lieutenant Hrishikesh Jayan Karuthedath (pilot) from the Indian Air Force, and CRPF's Assistant Commandant Bibhor Kumar Singh.
Posthumous recipients of the Shaurya Chakra include Captain MV Pranjal and Rifleman Alok Rao.
In addition to the gallantry awards, other defense decorations include Param Vishisht Seva Medals, Uttam Yudh Seva Medals, Ati Vishisht Seva Medals, Yudh Seva Medals, Bar to Sena Medals, Sena Medals, Nao Sena Medals, Vayu Sena Medals, Bar to Vishisht Seva Medal, and Vishisht Seva Medals.
