In other words, President Droupadi Murmu, Narendra Modi, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah welcomed citizens on Diwali day on Thursday.
"On the auspicious occasion of Deepawali, I extend my greetings and best wishes to all Indians living in India and abroad," President Murmu stated in a post on X.
In her address to the citizens, she said, "Deepawali is a festival of joy and glee. It marks the triumph of light against darkness and good against evil. It is celebrated enthusiastically by communities and classes throughout India and abroad. Hope for a bright future in this festival.
"On this sacred festival of Deepawali, we should vow to enlighten our conscience and adapt good behavior like love, sympathy and social amity. This festival is also an occasion to serve the deprived and needy and to share glee with them. We should feel proud of glorious Indian culture by believing in good and make a resolution to create a healthy, prosperous and sensitive society and enjoy a pollution-free Deepawali," she said.
Prime Minister Modi also used X to wish people in advance on Diwali. He posted, "Many happy wishes to the countrymen on Deepawali. On this divine festival of lights, I wish everyone a healthy, happy and prosperous life. May everyone prosper with the blessings of Maa Lakshmi and Lord Shri Ganesha."
Home Minister Shah too wished the people. "Heartiest greetings to all countrymen on the festival of lights, Diwali. May this festival of lights bring new energy, health and prosperity in the lives of all of you," he posted on X.
