PM Modi Concludes G7 Summit Participation, Returns to Delhi

PM Modi thanked the people and the government of Italy for such a cordial reception given to him during his visit. He stressed that India was very much an active participant on the world stage and added that the G7 Summit gave an opportunity to India to put forth its point of view. He also shared with the audience, through a video link, some of the important moments of the summit.

After the G7 meeting followed by a host of bilateral meetings with world leaders, Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded his day-long visit to Italy. As he looked back at his engagements with world leaders, PM Modi termed the day as highly productive. On the sidelines, PM Modi held consecutive bilateral meetings with French President Emmanuel Macron, British PM Rishi Sunak, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and Japanese PM Fumio Kishida. He joined the G7 Outreach Session on AI and Energy, Africa, and the Mediterranean and later interacted with a host of leaders of the world.
 

Wrapping up the Outreach Session of the G7 Summit, PM Modi, later, met with US President Joe Biden and other leaders like Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, King Abdullah of Jordan, and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

In a meeting on the sidelines of the summit, Prime Minister Modi met Pope Francis and extended him an invitation for a visit to India. The trip was PM Modi's first Overseas trip after beginning his third consecutive term in office and his fifth consecutive participation in the G7 Summit.
