Classroom Scolding Leads 15‑Year‑Old to Take Own Life, Says Note

A tragic incident occurred in Maharashtra's Amravati district, in which a 15-year-old Class 10 student committed suicide after he was allegedly humiliated by one of his teachers in front of his peers.

The boy, whose name is Vivek Mahadev Raut, wrote a note in which he held his teacher responsible for publicly humiliating him and making comments against his parents.

Vivek, a student of Jai Bajrang Vidyalaya, was apparently not able to answer certain questions his teacher asked him in class. This resulted in him being scolded, something which, as per reports, made his classmates laugh at him, leaving the teenager extremely embarrassed.

The teacher, whose name is reported to be Suryavanshi, allegedly showed anger and threatened to call Vivek's parents.
"I will inform your parents that you are not studying," the teacher is reported to have said to him during the altercation.

The student, dejected, committed suicide later. In his suicide note, he quoted the behavior of the teacher as the reason for the extreme action.

"I am hanging myself. because the Suryavanshi teacher abused me and talked about my parents. I am hanging myself," he wrote.

After the death of the boy, the neighborhood community responded with indignation. Neighbors allegedly attacked the educator, who was hospitalized for injuries.

The government subsequently lodged a case against the educator, and a probe is being conducted.
